Lewis Johnston will make his senior debut against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium this Saturday, becoming the fifth Swans debutant for 2011.

Swans co-captain Jarrad McVeigh revealed the news this morning, saying that Johnston was starting to reap the rewards of the hard work he has put into his game.

"He's listened to what the coaches and players have wanted from him, and this year he has really stepped up and learnt how to play senior footy," McVeigh said.

"This year there has been a considerable change in his attitude to the previous two years, so that's the reason why he is getting a game.

"He's been in really good form and deserves his chance."

Johnston was the 12th overall pick in the 2008 AFL Draft, and has shown great form in the reserves since missing the entire 2009 season with a foot injury.

The 20 year old key position player kicked three goals after being moved forward in the Swans reserves last game against the Gold Coast Suns on May 14.

Johnston joins Byron Sumner (round one), Alex Johnson (round three), Nathan Gordon (round seven) and Luke Parker (round eight) as Swans to have made their senior debut in 2011.
