The first episode of Irish Corner aired this week on SwansTV and as with most hit TV shows, some of the best work ended up on the cutting room floor. Due to time constraints, youngster Jed Lamb’s ‘keepie upsies’ performance on show was cut dramatically short. Lamb was nearly impossible to stop in the challenge, registering a total believed to be close 100. His performance rivals that of former Swan Ed Barlow who cracked 200 ‘upsies’ during filming in 2010.

Still on all things SwansTV and Nick Malceski was spied this week in discussions with SwansTV executives. Snippets believes that Malceski is working on a fortnightly chat show. Malceski confirmed to Snippets that he had met with SwansTV, but would only go as far as to say ‘watch this space’…

The profile season is upon us here at the Swans, with players undertaking the annual AFL Record questionnaire. As usual, some interesting answers have been thrown up.  Dan Hannebery was the popular choice for coach’s pet, with ‘get it done’ the overwhelming choice for the coach’s favourite saying. We learned that Sam Reid’s first job was as a lemonade salesman and that he cites his greatest fear as Stuart Maxfield at Draft Camp.  Perhaps the most surprising trend to emerge was the prominence of hit 1993 Disney flick ‘Cool Runnings’ as the favourite movie of Swans players. A new player profile features each week in the AFL Record.

The halls of Swans HQ are predominately filled with tributes to premierships, teams of the century, goal kicking legends, Brownlow medallist’s and of course the fans. Thanks to the handy work of the playing group, the halls are currently a homage to Swans Cleo Bachelor of the Year hopeful Josh Kennedy, with his photo and profile making its way on to most doors, walls, windows and switches within the building.  Kennedy is taking all of the extra attention in his stride.

Lewis Jetta Jnr was a star attraction in the rooms after last Sunday’s draw against the Demons. After watching dad Lewis, and dad’s second cousin Neville in action, little Lewis was doted upon in the rooms, with Adam Goodes among the keen crowd to have a nurse.  Dad’s first game as coach was obviously an exhausting experience for young Billy and Sahara Longmire, who were fast asleep when the staff bus departed for Melbourne airport after the game.

While much has been made of the clash of the McVeigh’s this weekend, the battle for bragging rights will also be on between best-mates Ted Richards and Essendon captain Jobe Watson. Both attended Xavier College in Melbourne and the two travelled overseas together.
