Last time they met:
The Sydney Swans came into last year’s round 12 match against St Kilda on a four-game winning streak. With the Swans making a surge for a place in the top four and with a winning formula intact, the Club was determined to put in a strong performance. A four goal lead in the second quarter was enough for the Swans to hold on for a 35-point victory.

It was the first game back for forward Barry Hall after serving a seven-match suspension. It took Hall just 60 seconds to get involved in the game as he marked on the lead to finish the match with 13 kicks, 11 marks and two goals.
Hall’s presence was certainly welcomed by the other Swans forwards, as Ryan O’Keefe, Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin combined to boot eight goals between them.

Ryan O’Keefe starred for the Swans with 14 possessions, 6 marks and three goals.

Brownlow Medal votes: 3 – Ryan O’Keefe, 2 – Craig Bolton, 1 – Adam Goodes

Fast footy facts:
Saturday night’s game will be the first match dual Brownlow Medalist Adam Goodes plays as co-captain.

Coach Paul Roos and former Swans assistant coach Ross Lyon are both tied on two wins apiece since Lyon took over the main coaching role at the Saints.

The Swans have not beaten the Saints at Docklands Stadium since 2000, the year the venue first opened.

The two sides have drawn three times in their long history with one of those results at Docklands in round five, 2002.

The greatest winning margin the Swans have ever recorded was 171 points which was against St Kilda in Round 12, 1919.

When the Swans won the premiership in 2005, they defeated St Kilda by 31 points in the preliminary final.
