The Sydney Swans’ NEAFL team will greet young fans on a trip to the Top End to face the Northern Territory Thunder this week.
In a partnership struck between the Swans and AFLNT, the McDonald’s Thunder Super Clinic will give boys and girls aged between eight and 12 a chance to meet some of their favourite stars.
The clinic, set to be held at Marrara’s TIO Stadium from 5-6pm on Friday, will see Sydney’s players run the youngsters through a series of fun skills and activities.
Boys and girls will also have an opportunity to take a photo with the players and get merchandise signed, while a BBQ will top the night off.
Swans development coach Jeremy Laidler says the players always relish a chance to reach out to the community.
“The boys really enjoy an opportunity to help out the community,” Laidler told Swans Media.
“Our boys used to love meeting their favourite players as kids, and it’s now their chance to do the same for today’s kids. To have a few AFL players up in the Northern Territory, the kids will be rapt, and hopefully they get a bit out of it.”
Sydney is scheduled to face the Northern Territory at TIO Stadium from 6:30pm local team on Saturday.
