The Sydney Swans have made four changes including naming a debutant for Sunday’s match against Brisbane at Cazaly’s Stadium.
Ruckman Joel Amartey has been named as the seventh debutant this season after impressive recent form in scrimmage matches.
Amartey was drafted to Sydney as a rookie ahead of the 2018 season and has developed into a ruckman with the ability to push forward when called upon.
Coach John Longmire said he was excited to offer Amartey an opportunity at AFL level.
“It's great to have him in the team, he has been working on his game for a couple of years now and this year he has come to another level," Longmire said.
"He's an athlete and gets after it really well at ground level which is important especially against Brisbane. He has great speed for a big guy so it's terrific to have him in the team."
Dylan Stephens, James Bell and Callum Mills all return to the side while James Rowbottom (managed), Callum Sinclair (managed), Hayden McLean (calf) and Jordan Dawson (concussion) are out of the side that lost to Carlton on Tuesday night.
Longmire said the short turnaround of games meant that naturally there would be some players who would need a rest.
"James has been playing inside mid for a while now and is a little bit 'banged up'. Obviously we would like him to keep playing, he is a very good player for us but we want to give him the best possible chance of playing well so we decided to give him a rest."
"The same with Callum Sinclair who had a bit of a knee issue going through this period and we wanted to give him a spell too."
