The Sydney Swans have selected Logan McDonald with pick four at the 2020 AFL Draft.
Club: Perth/Western Australia
Position: Key forward
Height: 196cm
Weight: 86kg
DOB 4/4/02
We’re pleased to welcome key forward Logan McDonald to the club, selected with pick four in the draft.
The 18-year-old pushed himself into contention for the top of the draft with an impressive season.
The hard-working key forward who loves to take opportunities willed himself into games and contests with an excellent work rate and competitive edge.
He has senior experience, kicking 21 goals for Perth at WAFL level this year.
McDonald converts his shots, gets away on the lead, and shows signs that he will be a consistent forward option for many years.
Surrounded by family as he was named by the Swans, McDonald said he can’t wait to head to Sydney where he will join his WA mate Chad Warner.
“It was an unreal feeling and it still hasn’t sunk in, to be going to such a successful club. The list is in a great spot and I just can’t wait to get over there and start working hard,” McDonald said.
“I’ve already had so many kind messages from a lot of the players, coaches and staff, and I’m just wrapped and couldn’t be any happier.
“My family is super proud and so happy for me – Mum was bawling for five minutes, but she’s fine now – and it’s just a really good time for my family and everyone who has helped me along the journey.”
Welcome to Sydney Logan!
