Jarrad McVeigh and Kieren Jack's time as co-captains came to end on Friday when Josh Kennedy was officially sworn in as stand-alone skipper ahead of season 2017.
It ends a four-year reign from McVeigh and Jack.
McVeigh became co-captain with Adam Goodes at the beginning of the 2011 season, leading the side to three grand finals, a premiership and countless other successes after first having to deal with personal adversity.
Jack replaced Goodes as co-captain ahead of the 2013 season, the tough and courageous midfielder leading from the front through his on-field actions and performances.
