The Sydney Swans would like to congratulate Peter Ivany AO and Peter Meurer OAM who have today been recognised in the Queens Birthday honours list.
Peter Ivany AO
Peter Ivany AO, Chairman of the Sydney Swans Foundation since 2005, and Director of the Sydney Swans was today recognised in the Queens Birthday honours list. Peter was appointed as an Officer in the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the community as supporter of sporting, arts, film, not-for-profit, and natural science organisations.
Peter has a long and distinguished career in business and philanthropy and has been a tremendous supporter of the Sydney Swans, in particular through his service as Chairman of the Sydney Swans Foundation.
Peter is a generous man with a passion for the Sydney Swans and today’s recognition is very much deserved.
The Sydney Swans Foundation raises funds critical for the development of club facilities, Sydney Swans Academy programmes and overall advancement of Australian Rules Football in NSW.
Peter Meurer OAM
Peter Meurer was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for service to the community through charitable organisations.
Peter is a long-standing member and supporter of the Sydney Swans. Peter is also the founding Chairman of the Goodes O’Loughlin Foundation (GO Foundation) and a director of the same from 2013 - 2018. Peter’s contribution to raising funds for the GO Foundation and Sydney Swans Foundation has been significant.
Sydney Swans Chairman Andrew Pridham congratulated both Peter’s on their achievements and today’s acknowledgement.
“Each of Peter Ivany and Peter Meurer are Sydney Swans true believers. Their support of the club in many ways over a long period of time has been significant. I am delighted that they have both been recognised for their achievements and in particular those that relate to the Sydney Swans.”
