Sydney Swans ambassador and revered television journalist Mike Willesee has launched his first book: Memoirs, detailing his extraordinary life.
In 2015, Willesee was inducted to the Sydney Swans Heritage List, along with fellow True Believers, John Gerahty, Craig Kimberley, Basil Sellers and Peter Weinert.
At a time when the future of the Sydney Swans looked in doubt, the group stepped in to ensure the survival of the club they loved.
The five men provided the Swans with enormous financial support, lobbied other clubs to allow the AFL to assist, and made huge personal sacrifices along the way.
In Memoirs, Willesee details his passion for the Swans, as well as his journey from football star to crusading journalist.
His extraordinary tale includes times as a Vietnam War correspondent for This Day Tonight and Four Corners, then later the creator of A Current Affair, where his interviews became news in themselves.
Willesee went on to make acclaimed documentaries on subjects as diverse as stigmata and ancient tribes. He survived a plane crash, found God and fought cancer. But he never stopped seeking truth.
