The in-form Brisbane Lions host the Sydney Swans on Sunday at the Gabba in what promises to be the match of the round.

Having won six games straight, Brisbane have rocketed into top four calculations and take on the ladder-leading Swans fresh off a 13-point victory over West Coast in Perth.

In the West it was the usual suspects for the Lions with Lachie Neale, Hugh McCluggage and Josh Dunkley dominating in the midfield, while they shared the load in the forward line with six players booting two goals apiece.

Charlie Cameron will hold his spot in the side for the clash with the Swans after having his three-game ban for a dangerous tackle thrown out at the AFL appeals board, while Brandon Starcevich returns from a concussion he suffered against Adelaide.

For the Swans, captain Callum Mills is being rested, Justin McInerney is missing with a knee injury and James Rowbottom is out with a sore cheekbone.

The last time these two sides met it was Brisbane who were too good at home wining by 16-points in Round 14 last season. On that occasion, Lachie Neale and Josh Dunkley led the possession winners for the Lions while Jake Lloyd and Errol Gulden had 27 disposals for the Swans.

Ahead of the clash with the top-of-the-table Swans, Lions coach Chris Fagan said he’s looking forward to the challenge.

“(In) 17 games, they’ve won 14, they’ve lost three by all less than a goal, and in two of those games they had more shots than the opposition, so they’re nearly having the perfect season,” Fagan said.

“They’re an incredibly good team that are well coached, and we know it’s going to be a tremendous challenge on Sunday. It’s one that we’re looking forward to.

“It’s the ultimate test of finding out where you’re at, and we’ll embrace that and go out and play as well as we possibly can, knowing that we’re going to have to do that to be a chance to achieve victory.”
