Sydney Swans great Adam Goodes is the second-most culturally powerful person in Australia in 2019, according to the Australian Financial Review.
Australian tennis sensation Ash Barty topped the Australian Financial Review's top-10 2019 list released on Thursday, with Goodes and a host of other renowned names rounding out the panel's selection.
Goodes played 372 AFL games for Sydney in the years spanning 1999-2015, retiring with two premierships, two Brownlow medals, four All Australian blazers, an AFL Rising Star honour and three Bob Skilton medals beside his name.
He is also one of just eight Bloods Legends, a Swans Life Member and a member of the Indigenous Team of the Century.
Goodes was named 2014 Australian of the Year and two powerful documentaries launched this year - The Final Quarter and The Australian Dream - scrupulously examined the testing twilight years of his career, which saw relentless booing force him into premature retirement.
The Sydney Swans Football Club congratulates Goodes on the AFR's acknowledgment.
