The Sydney Swans have locked in emerging trio James Rowbottom, Justin McInerney and Harry Reynolds on new deals.
Rowbottom and McInerney will be at the club until at least the end of 2022 after signing two-year contract extensions, while rookie Reynolds will don the red and white until at least the end of 2020 after extending for one year.
The Swans recruited the Victorian trio via last year’s National and Rookie Drafts.
Rowbottom, pick 25, made his senior debut in Round 5 against Richmond, and pick 44 McInerney debuted in Round 4 against Melbourne, while Reynolds has shown promising signs in the NEAFL.
Swans Head of Football Charlie Gardiner said it was a great result to secure the exciting talent on longer deals.
“We’ve seen our list evolve over recent years and it’s a great endorsement that three of the club’s emerging young players have signed contract extensions so early in their careers,” Gardiner said.
“James and Justin have both had a taste of senior football and shown that they’ve got an exciting future, while Harry is a talented young defender who has impressed so far in the NEAFL.”
“We look forward to seeing them develop further as players over the coming years and continue to push for more senior opportunities.”
The three young Swans join fellow 2018 draftee Nick Blakey in extending their contracts at Sydney.
