It is late on Thursday night in Ireland but Tadhg Kennelly sent through a quick message to the Sydney Swans members and supporters about pulling the red and white guernsey back on in season 2010...
I am excited to be returning to the Swans; the Club that was home to me for ten years before I went back to Ireland at the start of the year.
It was again a big decision to come back to Australia, much like my initial decision I suppose, but I have always had it in the back of my mind that there was the possibility to return should things fall into place with Kerry, my team in Ireland.
I couldn’t have planned the way this year has turned out any better. To return to my homeland with the hope to win an All-Ireland medal, to achieve it and do what my father did, to now return to the Swans and sign a two-year deal, I do feel fortunate.
I know it will be a massive challenge ahead, to get back and play at the top level, but my body feels fresh and I can’t wait to get back, start pre-season training and work towards season 2010 with all the boys.
See you soon!
Tadhg
