All-time favourite movie and why?
I’d have to say The Shawshank Redemption. I’ve always enjoyed it. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen it now but I just love the concept.
Some people say I look like …
Owen Wilson because of my bent nose. And probably (former Swans star) Matthew Nicks because of my balding hair.
My favourite game of VFL/AFL from my childhood was …
I went to the MCG and saw Essendon v Geelong (in 1993). My dad was a Geelong supporter, I was St Kilda actually, but I loved watching Gary Ablett, and it was Gary Ablett vs. Paul Salmon pretty much, so it was huge.(In that round-six clash, Ablett kicked 14 and Salmon 10 as the Bombers won by 24 points)
At the moment I’m enjoying listening to …
I’m probably listening to the Arctic Monkeys, the Kings of Leon and that sort of thing at the moment.
I know Roosy isn’t happy when he …
Rips me off the ground and wants to talk to me on the phone. He’s normally pretty calm and collected though.
On my days off, I enjoy nothing better than …
I try and have a hit of golf with a few of the boys. I’m also setting up a business with (Swans teammate) Amon Buchanan. We’re setting up a clothing label so I do a bit of work on that.
When I retire, I hope to …
Hopefully the business will have been up and running for a few years by then. Maybe I’ll go into the media or also just set up another few businesses. Hopefully there’s a few things up and running.
I think state of origin football …
I love state of origin footy. I know it’d be good … there’s always a bit of state rivalry here at the club because a lot of our guys are from interstate. I went to the state game where E J Whitten went around the ground (before the game) so I think it would be a good concept to bring back in. I think they’d have to work out the timing each year but it would be good.
The person most responsible for helping me reach where I am today is …
Probably my grandfather and all my family. I’ve had a lot of good support from my father and also my two older brothers, so yeah they’ve always given me a heap of support.
If I could be anything in the world, I’d be a …
I was sitting up late last night watching a bit of the cricket World Cup, so I wouldn’t mind playing a bit of cricket or something like that. I gave away cricket at 17, 18. I was in the Victorian under-17 squad but had to eventually give it away. I loved my footy too much. It wasn’t a tough choice then but then you still look at the lifestyle and stuff that they’ve got and it looks pretty good. But no, I’d never give this up.
